STARSAILOR find out tomorrow if the thick end of a year's-worth of hype has done them any good at all.

Their second "proper" single Alcoholic was released on Monday and, unlike previous release Good Souls, it has received much more airplay from the chart-controlling commercial radio stations. Despite it being incredibly depressing, even the most ardent pop fan-DJs have been backing the track, falling for the memorable lyrics.

The group, whose frontman James Walsh is from Chorley, have found themselves with more time on their hands than expected ahead of the big release, which also secured them maximum publicity on the national music stage.

They had been due to go to New York to do magazine interviews and photoshoots -- but last week's cataclysmic events in Manhattan has led to the trip being delayed.

Closer to home, their debut album Love is Here received its first play -- in a Chorley pub.

More than 100 fans attended Harry's Bar on Monday to listen to the album in full and see several videos.

James didn't make the event -- but his mother did.
