AN official from the North West Development Agency paid a visit to Pendle to look at a number of issues vital to the future of the borough.
Dr Baron Isherwood, the NWDA's director of Regeneration, spent an afternoon with members of the Pendle Partnership.
The visit started at Northern Technologies in Nelson, where Dr Isherwood was welcomed by partnership chairman Dennis Mendoros, Pendle Council chief executive Stephen Barnes and Northern Techologies chief executive Plan Firminger.
Mr Firminger gave a presentation on his firm's vision for the future and a proposal for the development of a Centre for Manufacturing Excellence, which it is hoped will win NWDA backing.
Dr Isherwood was shown the former Grand Cinema site, Reedyford Mill, Riverside Business Park development, the proposed Nelson West Renewal area and Pendle Technology Centre.
Mr Mendoros said: "We are extremely grateful to Dr Ishwerwood for taking time to visit Pendle.
"Since its formation in 1995, the partnership has worked closely with the NWDA and we aim to continue this relationship for the benefit of the borough and its people."
