TWO East Lancashire music acts were celebrating last night as this week's music charts revealed they both had tracks inside the Top 10.

This year's most-hyped indie band, Starsailor -- fronted by Chorley 21-year-old James Walsh -- scored their first top 10 hit, with the song Alcoholic going in at number 10.

Music pundits described James' vocals as the reason why the song had made it into the top 10.

Of the former St Michael's CE High School pupil, commercial DJ Neil Fox said: "What an amazing voice he has."

The group has been due to fly to New York two days after the American atrocities for a promotional tour.

They have had two Top 20 hits before, one single called Good Souls and an EP of their early work, Fever.

One place above them in this week's chart was Blackburn dance group N-Trance, signed to the town's All Around The World Records, based in Penny Street.

Their track -- originally released in 1995 -- was remixed and re-released a fortnight ago, entering at number four.
