AMY'S view on the world, which gives the play its title, is one of unshakeable belief in the giving of unconditional love and loyalty.
The story centres around the relationship between Amy (Sara Griffiths) and her mother the popular West End actress Esme Allen (Brigit Forsyth).
When Amy brings home her opinionated new boyfriend Dominic (Jonathan Weir) it sets in motion a series of events that slowly eat away at the foundations of the family.
The viscous arguments over the years between Esme and her son-in-law Dominic, eventually see mother and daughter drift apart.
David Hare's play draws together the tensions of modern life and mixes them with thoughts on television, video and the more traditional, conventional theatre.
Brigit Forsyth brings passion and depth to the character of Esme, who through financial mismanagement ends up performing in a TV soap opera - a far cry from her glorious theatre days.
With the play culminating in a heart-wrenching final scene, following an ingenious set change, it is well worth making a date to see Amy's View.
The production runs until November 24.
