YEAR 11 pupils at St Mary's Catholic High School all left school for two weeks -- to sample the world of work.
Pupils experienced a variety of work placements including joining the Army for a few days, working in schools and playgroups, solicitors' offices, garages, hairdressers, graphic design offices, hotels, and helping to fit central heating systems.
The aim of the placements was to let the youngsters gain an idea of the reality of work and to learn some extra skills to equip them for when they leave school next summer.

Emma said that she loved being involved with the elderly people and was highly praised by the staff for her kind and thoughtful ways with the residents.
