SWING to the sound of the big bands by the seaside this month with the Big Band Event at Pontin's Holiday Centre, Blackpool.

The national extravaganza runs from November 16-19 and taking part will be the world famous Todd Miller & the Joe Loss Orchestra, Britain's number one big band crooner Andy Prior & his orchestra with special guest John Miller (Glenn Miller's nephew) and the sensational George Bradley Big Band.

The Salford University Big Band will also play and a new show called A Salute to Buddy Rich, Sinatra & the Big Bands comes from Paul Rigby & his Northern Jazz Orchestra with special guest Mark Porter.

Young talent comes from the Lancashire Students Jazz Orchestra -- whose members have an average age of 15 -- and the Lancashire Students Training Jazz Orchestra with an average age of 12.

Guests can dance the weekend away, or sit and relax and enjoy the great sounds of the big bands for £143 per person for the entire event (based on two people sharing on a half board basis). Day tickets are available from £10.
