A HOUSEWIFE was forced to drive a thief to Bolton after he sneaked into her home in Tottington.

The husband and children of the 47-year-old woman had just left the house in Cann Street at 10am on Sunday when the man walked into the kitchen area.

He threatened the housewife before grabbing three mobile phones, bank cards and a quantity of jewellery.

The robber then picked up the keys to the woman's Audi which was parked outside. She was forced to drive the man to Bolton where he jumped out of the car and fled.

Police said the woman was not hurt but was left very distressed by the incident.

The man was white, more than 6ft tall, in his late 20s, thin and with a tanned complexion. He was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap and glasses.

Anyone who saw the man in the Cann Street area on Sunday morning (Nov 4) should contact Bury CID on 856 8150.
