IT is good news that Andy Burnham has called for leisure facilities for Leigh and surrounding areas. He seems to be genuinely interested in the community.
We desperately need facilities for young people, whatever walk of life they come from.
A bowling alley would be great for a start.
There are plenty of shops in Leigh, but mostly "cheap shops".
We need more shops like Marks and Sparks, BHS and so on.
Wigan has wide variety of shops and leisure facilities, so why is Leigh being deprived? Stone Cross Park at Golborne has huge potential for a multiplex cinema, leisure centre, so why not develop there?
Everything is at Wigan. There are other areas that do exist outside of Wigan.
So let's get our backsides moving and get something done.
