MOVING on to bigger and better things!

That's a former Radcliffe company Acumen Seals which has become the first occupiers to take up residence at the new Agecroft Commerce Park.

The business park has been created under the auspices of Networkspace, a joint venture between the Langtree Group and English Partnerships.

The site will eventually comprise 17 new industrial units on 2.2 acres of land at the former colliery.

Acumen Seals, owned and managed by brothers Andrew and Lawrence Sykes, was the first company to move on to the site. The brothers are now trading from one of the units, a 775 sq ft shell that the company has fitted out to include an office area, trade counter and stores area.Andrew Sykes said: "Acumen Seals has been trading for two years and was previously based in Radcliffe."We had been looking to re-locate for six months and Agecroft proved very attractive because of its location, just off a main road, and the terms."He added: "We are now looking forward to welcoming existing and new customers to our business."

The company provides mechanical seals to businesses, including pump manufacturers, motor rewinders, paper mills, processing industries, bakeries and engineering companies and is the main distributor for the Austrian-based cartridge and seal manufacturer, Depac.

Currently very much a family-run business, the two brothers have expansion plans that should see them employing up to three full-time staff in the future.

Andrew added: "Networkspace at Agecroft will provide us with the ideal base from which to expand the company and fulfil our professional ambitions."
