LYTHAM put in a strong team performance to take all three points from a tough Leeds side.

The first goal came from a quick break from defence with the ball moved quickly on to Craig Nuttall on the half way line.

With Dave Robbins in support up front, the ball was neatly flicked over the Leeds defence where it was picked up by Robbins who rounded the keeper and smashed the ball home. Lytham then continued to press forward and Craig Nuttall once again set up the second after breaking a Leeds move down and passing to Tom Atkinson who struck the ball powerfully past the Leeds keeper.

The second half saw Lytham continue to put pressure on and there were chances for both sides, but Dafydd Jones put in another fine performance in goal to deny the Leeds forwards. This was a good win for Lytham who started to show signs that they could be up there at the end of the season chasing for promotion.

THE LADIES maintained their winning streak with a superb team performance.

Playing on the astro-turf Gemma Noon's determination was rewarded when a well timed deflection opened the scoring, after a reasonably even first half.

Lytham stepped up the pace after half-time and a good strike from captain Michelle Singleton was deflected into goal by a Lancaster defender.

The next goal was far from lucky, as Heidi Whitehead, whose overall performance was first class, scored with a well executed reverse stick shot. Laura Stone, who is leaving the club this week to go travelling, then made up for a missed penalty stroke, with a superb goal from open play following a 'battle' with the goalkeeper.

Lytham then maintained their teamwork and pace until the final whistle with Amy Leach being as solid as ever in defence. An excellent performance and a well deserved result.
