A £150,000 new-look Co-op is due to be unveiled today on the Higherfold estate.

The estate's only village store has been transformed into a Co-op and will now feature extras such as automatic doors, access by ramp, modern decor and scanning tills.

For the customer's convenience, a drinks chiller has been installed and beer and spirits will be on sale for the first time.

The store was officially opened this morning by chair of the Co-op's Northern Regional Board, Eric Stitt.
