THE Ellenbrook and Boothstown Band, who played at Eccles Methodist Church to help boost church funds, have been awarded a £3,500 National Lottery grant to buy more instruments for its recently formed junior band.
Tutored and conducted by Toby Hobson of the Fodens Band the juniors rehearse from 6.30-7.30pm each Monday in Boothstown Methodist Church. Seven to 18-year-olds are catered for irrespective of whether or not they can play or read music. For more details call 0161 794 1426.
Band members have been congratulating new member and tenor horn Darren Eckersley and his bride Louise Freeborn following their marriage at Lowton St Mary's Church.
