HEALTH staff met to discuss the problem of violence against healthcare professionals.
Guests at the Tackling Violence Conference at Ewood Park yesterday included Kath Reade, chairman of East Lancashire Health Authority, Julie Young, Lancashire Area Manager of Victim Support and representatives from the police, GPs, doctors and nurses.
Actors' group Performance Connection acted out case studies of violence against health staff.
Chief Inspector Dale Allen of Lancashire Police told the meeting: "I was delighted to have been a part of this multi-agency seminar aimed at tackling violence.
"That we are here and able to share good practice across agencies demonstrates the enormous strides we have taken to tackling violence and providing effective support to primary care staff."
