FRANK Adam (Your Letters, Oct 30) didn't once mention Afghanistan or the terrible effect that the bombing of the poorest country in the world by the richest and most powerful is having on the lives of ordinary Afghan people.
Since the attacks started, hundreds of innocent women, children and men have lost their lives, thousands of families have fled their homeland and all because of this so-called "moral crusade" that Tony Blair would have us all support.
The United Nations was set up as an international body to settle differences between nations without recourse to bloodshed. It is a pity that neither the US nor the UK sees fit to refer this matter to the UN.
I believe Tony Blair, who hasn't seen fit to seek permission from Parliament for this war, should be distancing this country from the US and a military solution.
