THREE members of the same family celebrating their birthdays meant that Pendleside Hospice were better off to the tune of £315.
Charlie and Mary Shaw, of Minehead Avenue, Burnley, and daughter Gail Riley, of Kingscauseway, Brierfield, decided they would ask for donaions to the Reedley Hospice instead of presents when they held their celebration at the Ightenhill Social Club at the end of October. Charlie was the oldest of the bunch celebrating his 65th birthday, followed by wife Mary, 60 and daughter Gail, 30.
The family called in to present the money to delighted fundraising manager, Kaye Bartle. She said: "We are very grateful to Charlie, Mary and Gail for thinking of the Hospice at this special time.
"The hospice would like to wish them all many happy returns."
