CHILDREN from Northern Primary School, Bacup, will make a Remembrance Day parade from their school to Weir War Memorial on Burnley Road.
Bacup Rotary Club has agreed to supply a commemorative wreath and several members will accompany the 120 junior school children to steward them as they walk up the busy Burnley Road.
The school is looking into asking the David Alliance Trust, which owns the area where the memorial stands, about the possibility of adopting the memorial to forge closer links with the community.
The pupils will leave the school at 1.45pm for the service led by Weir Baptist Church minister the Rev Neil Hepworth at 2.30pm at the memorial. Pupils have also written poems to recite at the service.
It is hoped a cornet player from the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band will sound the Last Post.
