NEIL Turley's phenomenal rise up the rugby league ladder went up another notch or two yesterday as the Leigh Centurions full-back made a sensational international debut.

Turley, 21, capped an astonishing 12 months by scoring FIVE tries in England Under 21s 112-6 demolition of South Africa's full Test side in Pretoria.

Turley, who began the year simply as a Centurions squad player, has ended it with over 60 tries and a bagful of individual awards.

England's youngsters scored 20 tries in all - an incredible achievement after France had struggled to put 40 points past South Africa in a recent full international.

The teams meet in the second and final Test on Wednesday. NEIL Turley's phenomenal rise up the rugby league ladder went up another notch or two yesterday as the Leigh Centurions full-back made a sensational international debut.
