POLICE are looking for a man who tried to burgle two houses on Westland Avenue.
A householder saw the man on the roof of a garage of one house before he made off.
He then saw him in the next door garden trying to disconnect a security light.
The man was carrying a bin bag and a screwdriver.
He is described as white, 5ft 7in, of slim build, with short dark hair.
He wore dark trousers and a dark anorak.
DC John Entwistle of Darwen CID appealed to anyone with information on the attempted break-ins, which happened on Saturday evening, to contact them on 353841.
