REGARDING your report 'Dreams of fields for rat-run roads' (LET, January 26), instead of this ill-conceived nonsense about people living on the streets, would it not be better if the council concentrated on making houses fit to live in? Blackburn has tens of thousands that are unfit.

As far as grassing over the streets, would it not be a better solution to put the councillors out to grass and let them fantasise as much as they want without doing any real harm?

Then, the town would have the chance to restock the stable with people who can face reality.
