FURIOUS Bury boss Andy Preece could not wait to leave Chesterfield's Saltergate ground after Saturday's clash and accused the Derbyshire side of robbing his side of a vital point.

Not only was Michael Nelson's late 'equaliser' disallowed but the Shakers chief believed an arrangement in which a new ball was to be supplied if it was kicked into an empty stand suddenly stopped once the home side had taken the lead.

"At half time we were told that there would be balls placed in the empty stand on the far side and when a ball went out they would be thrown straight back into play," he said.

"But once they went a goal up all of a sudden there were none to be seen. "We pointed the situation out to the fourth official but he just ignored it.

"But you expect that sort of thing here, they seem to get away with murder at this club."

"To be honest I don't even believe we should be playing them in this division but the powers that be think differently," he added, referring to Chesterfield's troubles last season that left them in danger of being kicked out of the Football League.

"It was a real six-pointer today. If we'd have got a point it would have been a good one. Chesterfield didn't have many chances apart from the two goals, we defended pretty well and played some good stuff in the last 20 minutes, so to leave with nothing is frustrating."
