GREAT Harwood took their run to one loss in four games as they struggle to free themselves from the threat of NWCL Division One relegation.

But although Denis Underwood's side recorded a hard fought draw they were desperate to get all three points against their fellow strugglers.

On the plus side, Underwood has demanded that the goals are spread amongst his side and instead of usual suspect Graham Lightbown hitting the target it was the experienced Neil Baron and skipper Neil Kennedy who came up with the goods.

Underwood has been frustrated that his side have given away a number of early goals and their trip to Fleetwood was no different as John Riches opened the scoring for the home side on eight minutes after breaking from a Harwood attack.

But Harwood got into their stride and Baron scored only his second goal of the season on 24 minutes when he tapped home Lightbown's corner.

The visitors doubled their advantage nine minutes later when captain Kennedy opened his account this term again a set piece proving Fleetwood's undoing. Dave Sharples floated in a free kick which Kennedy pounced on.

Riches equalised for Fleetwood four minutes before the interval but both sides could have snatched it in the second half.

Lightbown and Simon Garner were both one on one with the keeper but couldn't find the winner while keeper Alan Dawson saved a late penalty to deny Fleetwood.

"I was happy with the point as Fleetwood have a new manager and they were abit unknown. I would have put money on Lighty to score and if we had taken a 3-2 lead I don't think they would have come back.

"But despite that Dave Sharples had another good game and a lad from amateur soccer, Kieron Keighes, made his debut at left back and did well."
