CHORLEY Lynx go in search of a morale boosting victory tomorrow when they travel to Gigg Lane to take on fellow strugglers Swinton Lions in their third game in the National League Cup.

Lynx have now lost their opening two games in the round robin series and now have little chance of qualifying for the next stage. Last weekend they went down to disappointing home defeat at the hands of Whitehaven despite dominating most of the first half when they managed to squander several try scoring opportunities.

Coach Graeme West continued to experiment against Whitehaven with normal loose forward Wayne Bloor putting in an excellent performance in the centres and wingman Dean Cross also creating a good impression in the centres.

Lynx's major doubt for the Swinton game is the influential Tim Street who has a calf strain and he will badly missed if he fails a fitness test.

Swinton come into this fixture having conceded 128 points in the opening two fixtures against Leigh and Barrow, these results combined with just one league win has seen the departure of coach Tony Humphries this week. His temporary replacement is Mark Shields who played for the old Chorley Borough team.

They will be strengthened by the return to the club of Peter Cannon and Wayne English and they will be confident of revenge after losing to Lynx in the league earlier this season.
