Stocksbridge 3 Radcliffe Boro 2: BORO have been overtaken in the automatic promotion place by Ossett Town after another damaging defeat and hopes of Premier Division football next term may now rest on nerve-jangling end of season play-offs.

Trailing 2-0 to goals from Wayne Biggins and Jeremy Illingworth Boro hit back on 44 minutes with two in quick succession from Lee Potter and a Jody Banim penalty and there was still time before the interval for a mass brawl to see the home side's Biggins and Boro's Simon Kelly red carded. Despite having the better of the second half Radcliffe fell to former Bury star Liam Robinson's 86th minute winner for Stocksbridge.

Tired Colls

Abbey Hey 2

Atherton Colls 0

THE games are coming too thick and fast for Colls. Legs looked tired in the Abbey Hey defeat, not surprisingly after a week which saw a Goldline Trophy triumph on Monday and LR derby game on Thursday. There is no respite for Tom Foster and Dennis Haslam's side as tonight they entertain table-topping Salford City and have a Worthington Challenge Cup Final appointment at Gigg Lane, Bury on Friday to take on Prescot Cables.

LR point

Flixton 1

Atherton LR 1

LR erased lingering relegation worries in a dour encounter at fellow strugglers Flixton. After keeper Steve Powell had denied former Rovers player Gavin Salmon, LR took the lead on 26 minutes when Chris Arnold nodded a corner back in for Wayne Briddon to convert. The home team's equaliser came on 57 minutes when frantic LR defending saw three shots beaten away only for Nathan Comley-Excel to find a way through.

Brave Rams

Mossley 1

Ramsbottom Utd 1

THE point earned by a brave battling performance from the Rams at Mossley came with a price as find of the season centre back Simon Woodford was taken to hospital after the game with a suspected broken arm and midfielder Carl Lomax broke his nose. The home side took the lead just after the break with a penalty hotly disputed because the player had looked well offside. United levelled on 63 minutes when John Phillips' storming run and cross was diverted in by a home defender under pressure from Steve Orrell. The Rams' man of the match award went to keeper Paul Horridge.

Daisy delight

Daisy Hill 2

Chadderton 0

DAISY'S first Division Two victory since October 27 may have been a long time coming but when it did it was a bit of a stroll. Joe Paladino's transformed side was always in charge against the Oldham outfit with David Devall making both goals, Steve Brockley's opener on 16 minutes and Jimmy Dixon's killer second five minutes after the break.
