JERRY Cassell is still not ready for his Transco Lancashire League debut so Todmorden have looked to the Central Lancashire League for sub-pro's this weekend.

The Australian is struggling with a hand injury but the Centre Vale side are hoping to have him back next weekend for the double header against Accrington and defending champions Bacup.

But for this weekend's double header, today against Rishton they were set to use Middleton's paid man Ruvin Pereis.

He is a Sri Lankan, primarily a batsman who can bowl left arm spin.

Tomorrow at Haslingden, Todmorden will make use of Littleborough professional Lee Carseldine, who plays in the same Queensland team as Cassell.

The two travelled over to England together last week.

Todmorden are able to use the Central Lancs paid men as there are an odd number of teams in that league.

Carseldine is also primarily a batsman, averaging 180 in the Central Lancs League last season despite having to return early because of injury.

And he marked his return to English cricket with a century last week.

Nigel Hunter's side will be hoping these two can continue the form of their sub-pro last week. Clinton Peake, from Jennings Ribblesdale League Barnoldswick, scored 114 in their win over Rawtenstall.
