SHOWBIZ brothers Guy and Aaron Lomax are hoping they have come up with a hit record to help England to a World Cup victory in Japan.

And they reckon their 'Red, White and Blue Army' CD is not only a rival to Ant and Dec's official 'We're On The Ball' -- it's better.

Guy woke up suddenly one morning at 2am after dreaming of lyrics to the record.

He said: "I just had to get up and write down what I had been dreaming about.

"My girlfriend asked what I was doing and I told her I thought I had a hit record!"

Guy, 24, of Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, showed his lyrics to older brother Aaron who refined them and they set them to the familiar tune The Nut Rocker -- which they play in their repertoire on the club circuit.

Aaron, 25, of Staghills Road, Newchurch, said: "It is a very familiar tune which everybody knows because it is so very catchy.

"We recorded it in our home studio and Keith Harwood of Testometric in Rochdale produced the artwork.

"I have heard the Ant and Dec record and it seems good but it's not as good as ours."

Guy said: "We invited a couple of friends round to listen to it and they were jumping about and dancing around. They loved it! Ant and Dec have some serious competition."

Guy and Aaron produced the CD in their own studio and have now sent copies off to agents, record companies and radio stations. In their stage act as the Lomax Brothers, they play a combination of music including pop, classical and easy listening tunes on the club circuit around Lancashire.

They have played venues in Manchester, Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, Rossendale and Nelson, and are contracted to perform in Luminar Leisure's nightclubs throughout the UK.

The former pupils of All Saints High School in Rawtenstall both took music at school.

From there they went on to Accrington and Rossendale College where Aaron completed a BTech in pop music and Guy studied sport.

Four years ago the lads won a talent competition in Nelson, which set them on the road to realising their dream of performing for a living.

In the summer they will complete their second cruise when they will be entertaining holidaymakers on a week-long tour of the Mediterranean and Canary Islands.

They will soon be appearing in Rossendale and, if their World Cup record takes off, may add it to their repertoire.
