REGULARS at Nelson's Bull Hotel held a fun day to raise funds for the Edith Watson ward at Burnley General Hospital.

Manageress Lisa Bird, 29, decided to raise money after a customer had a stillborn baby which could have been detected if the hospital had a monitor facility.

And after just two weeks of being in charge Lisa arranged a fun day with music, dancing and sangria. She said: "When I heard about how the hospital was without this machine I knew that I had to raise some money.

"I am not sure how much we raised but I will be doing other things throughout the week to help boost the total.

"The day was really successful and all the customers dug deep to help us out so I am sure we will have raised plenty."
