WILLIAM Woodruff's splendid book, 'The Road to Nab End,' reveals an all-but-forgotten chapter of Blackburn's history.
Griffin Street, central to the main theme, no longer stretches from Spring Lane to the Griffin Inn. Drastic changes have occurred and, inevitably, the original sense of community has been lost.
However, there are many people brought up in that area between the wars who have photographs and reminiscences -- perhaps aroused by reading William Woodruff's book. The Culture and Leisure Department of the town hall would be well advised to seek to correlate their memories and Blackburn Museum could put on an exhibition based on the area in and around Griffin.
