MUM's the word on the latest exhibition at Samlesbury Hall featuring some of the regions finest artists.

The Secrets exhibition, in Preston New Road, is showing the work of 20 members of the North West Design Collective -- a group of artists and crafts people formed in 1996 by graduates of the University of Central Lancashire

Clitheroe-based Jenny Cork is displaying her glass jewellery and wall pieces.

She said: "I was involved in the Collective from the start and it has been a great way to bring together different artists and styles into a single exhibition."

David Hornby, exhibition organiser at the hall, said: "We consider it a coup to bring together so many of the best contemporary artists in the region.

"The hall is best known for its history but we are delighted to welcome artists who offer a modern approach to traditional crafts."

Painter and illustrator Bita Karoonian of Clayton-le-Moors will also be showing work in the exhibition which runs until June 16.
