LIKE everyone else I was disappointed with the draw against Sweden but I feel England will play better against Argentina.

It is going to be a big game on Friday and playing against a side who have so many stars should lift the England lads.

And I think that fact that Argentina will have a go will help too. Sweden were content to spoil the game and see what they could get, while I think the South Americans will attack us and that should give us more opportunity to get forward and enjoy the game.

But I think people are looking in the wrong place if they are pinning their hopes on David Beckham and Michael Owen.

In many ways our match-winners during this tournament are going to be Sol Campbell and Rio Ferdinand.

They were impressive against Sweden and Henrik Larsson, who scores goals for fun, didn't get a look in.

The two of them have pace and look very solid together and they are capable of keeping clean sheets.

If they can keep Gabriel Batistuta and Hernan Crespo quiet there is always the chance we can grab something on the break.

But I don't get the feeling we are going to score too many goals in this tournament.

I said before we started that I felt Beckham would take four or five games to get back into his stride after a long injury, and that would a tough enough job against Southampton and Leicester in the Premiership let alone the best in the world.

Everyone was praying Beckham would be fit and when he was declared fit everyone said he must play, but I think to then turn on him and say he was disappointing is unfair.

A lot of people in England seem to think he is Superman and that he is always going to save us, but he is an athlete who has to recover full fitness like anyone else.

And we are not helped by the fact that his obvious replacement Kieron Dyer is very much in the same boat when it comes to injury.

But, while I was disappointed with the whole display against Sweden, I have to say that we can still progress.

Let's face it if we can stop sides scoring we pose a threat from set-pieces and in Owen we can hit on the break.

All it takes is 1-0 wins to get you through the groups and then in the knockout it can even come down to penalties.

But the Argentina game is pretty much make or break now. The lads out there will know that and they will be all geared up to get a win.
