THREE people were injured, one seriously, in two separate assaults during the early hours of Sunday morning (June 2).
A 36-year-old man is currently receiving treatment for multiple fractures to his jaw at a special head injuries hospital unit in Blackburn after he and his younger brother were attacked at 1am in Rochdale Road, Bury.
His younger brother was taken to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment to cuts and bruising. He was later allowed home.
In a separate attack, believed to have taken place at about the same time, a 26-year-old man was found unconscious with cuts to his face following an attack in a park off Spring Lane in Radcliffe
It is believed the victim had been hit in the face with a broken bottle.
Detectives have launched appeals for information in connection with both assaults.
Anyone with information on the Radcliffe attack should call Whitefield CID on 856 8248 while witnesses to the Bury incident should call Bury CID on 856 8150.
