COUNCILLORS in West Craven are expected to commit £2,500 of their committee budget to the improvement of the bridleway at Booth Bridge, in Earby.
The bridleway starts at Wardle Storeys and runs adjacent to the water treatment works and across farmland at Booth Bridge Lane.
A report by the highways, engineering and design services department says the condition of the bridleway is generally good but a very poor section exists near Booth Bridge Lane where it frequently flooded.
Countryside access officer, Tom Partridge, said: "Many people do not make use of the bridleway because of the poor conditions at Booth Bridge. A lasting improvement to the conditions of Booth Bridge would open up an attractive circular route from Earby along the bridleway, Booth Bridge Lane and the disused railway."
Work will included drainage, resurfacing and raising the path's height.
