ROVERS striker Matt Jansen has been hurt in a road accident whilst on holiday in Italy.

He was admitted to a Rome hospital and is recovering after a motorcycle accident following a collision with a taxi.

Jansen suffered concussion for two days and a deep cut above his eye for which he has received four stitches.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness is being regularly updated on his condition.

A Blackburn Rovers statement said: "He's improving daily but needs more rest before being given the all-clear to return home early next week."
