A SKATE and bike event kicked off Ramsbottom's sports week today at Bolton Road West playing fields.
The event was formulated by Carole Crompton and was run in partnership with sports week organisers Ramsbottom Sports Council and national company Tribe Enterprises who put on displays and a roadshow
A series of ramps have been put on the playing fields for skateboarders, roller bladers and BMX bikes.
Tomorrow Ramsbottom's first Off-Road Duathlon, a combined mountain bike and trail run, will take place on Holcombe Moor.

The full 21km course involves a 4.5km tower run, 12km mountain biking and a 4.5km trail run.
Sporting events continue in the town until next Saturday when there will be an event in Nuttall Park in Ramsbottom.
