An elderly man suffering gearbox trouble on his Vauxhall Corsa caused chaos on the Tesco store car park in Hill Street, Whitebirk,Blackburn
Firefighters, who were called to the scene but not required, said the problems caused the man to plough into five other parked cars.
Officers said they were not sure exactly what was the cause of the gearbox trouble, but that it meant the man was left without adequate control of his car.
No-one was injured but officers said the man had been left irritated after the incident.
