A TOTTINGTON couple are helping a newly-launched firm of solicitors to live up to its billing as a family-run business.

They are one of two sets of husbands and wives who have established the Johnson Timmons Partnership, in Chorley Old Road, Bolton.

Senior solicitors David Johnson and Dominic Timmons left well-known Manchester practice James Chapman and Co to go it alone.

And the move has led to the creation of a real family atmosphere. For David, from Tottington, has been joined by his wife Sandy, who is office manager.

She worked for Chapman's for nine years and had been a senior administrator. David had worked there as a senior solicitor for 18 months. Previously, he had spells at Berrymans Lace Mawer, Branton Edwards, DWF and Hill Dickinson. The firm's family foursome has been completed by David's wife Allison, who works part-time in marketing and accounts.

Johnson Timmons Partnership specialises in claimant personal injury cases involving road accidents, occupational disease and workplace accidents.

David and Dominic are also representing several professional soccer players who are pursuing claims against opponents following injuries sustained during games.

David said: "We are uniquely placed to pursue claims for compensation, given our inside knowledge of the workings and ethos of the insurance industry."

Sandy added: "We have started our new practice because we just thought the time was right to make our own decisions."
