RESIDENTS in Kelbrook and Sough are being urged to give their opinions on how the village hall should be developed and used.

Questionnaires have been sent to all households following the purchase of the property from the church by the Village Hall Committee, earlier this year.

The committee is now hoping to get £200,000 from the Single Regeneration Budget and is surveying the residents to put together an action plan.

Trevor Walmsley, chairman of the village hall committee, said: "We want to emphasise that this is not just a paper exercise.

"We are paying consultants to analyse all the returned questionnaires and they will write a report to enable us to get this cash.

"We are asking how many times individuals use the hall and for what purpose and what sort of improvements they would like to see.

"Among the things we need desperately are new toilets, a new kitchen, new floor, as well as a new roof and a conservatory building down the side for the over 60s to meet."

The deadline for returning the forms to Kelbrook Post Office is August 6.
