THE great Commonwealth Games 100m debate is continuing after England gold medal favourites Mark Lewis-Francis and Dwain Chambers both pulled up in the Final.

Lewis-Francis and Chambers threatened before the race to smash through the 10-second barrier in their battle for title, but both pulled up with injuries in front of a capacity 38,000 crowd at the City of Manchester stadium.

The race was won by Kim Collins of St Kitts and Nevis, to pick up his country's first ever gold medal.

19-year-old Lewis-Francis, who has twice clocked an illegal 9.97secs including one in Sheffield last month when Chambers won in 9.95secs, said; "I felt a sharp pain in the back of my leg. It feels sore, very sore."
