BURY lags well behind in weekly average earnings as new figures illustrate the north-south divide.
Figures published by the union GMB put Bury 166th in the average earnings table, in a list of 229 counties and boroughs.
The average weekly earnings for Bury workers is £369.09. This equates to an annual salary of £19,192. Average earnings for full-time workers in the City of London are £884.92 a week, far outstripping the national average of £442.37.
