ARGENTINIAN wizard Carlos Marinelli and Scottish international Allan Johnston were two of the big names on show as Blackburn Rovers reserves went down to a 2-0 defeat in their first Christie Park clash of the season.
Noel Whelan and Allan Johnston scored for Middlesbrough's second string in the first half, and things got worse when youngster Gordon Greer was sent off with 10 minutes left.
However, Steve McLaren's side had Marinelli sent off in the dying minutes.
