Leigh RMI v Hereford preview by Martyn Hindley

LEIGH manager Steve Waywell says that the disappointments at Morecambe has only made his side more determined to keep their place in the Conference.

RMI were beaten by a controverisal goal in the fourth-minute of stoppage time by the seaside, and without a win in four games they are desperate for some points when Hereford United visit Hilton Park this evening.

"Everyone and everything seems to be conspiring against us but that just makes me focused on the task in hand and I hope that it has the same effect on the players," said Waywell. "We are much better than the ten points that we have got so far and I hope that we can show that against Hereford."

But despite a sorry season last time around that saw the Bulls finish in the bottom half, Hereford have been a tough team to beat of late and can boast the best away record in the league with five wins from six games. Only Gravesend have pulled the wheels from beneath the travelling carpet.

Providing they can keep a full side on the field though, Leigh will prove tough nuts to crack themselves with only Gerry Harrison and Andy Heald unavailable through injury.

It is likely that the success of Stuart Whittaker at the weekend will see him continue in his more attacking role with Chris Ward remaining on the bench.

Good news for the Railwaymen though is that Harrison could be fit in just two weeks after it was initially feared that he would be out until November after knee surgery.
