CRAIG Brown was hoping for a bit of good luck this weekend.

Instead, not only did he get a draw (again) but he witnessed a ridiculous sending off of one striker and a horror injury to the other.

It was Graham Alexander's penalty on 39 minutes which gave North End a point, after they once again had gone behind early on.

Michael Proctor's side-footed the ball into the net on 20 minutes to give North End what Brown later described as a 'wake-up'.

Despite being the better of the two sides throughout the second half, North End again failed to make any of it count, and in fact, this game will only be remembered for one thing - Cresswell's injury.

He collided with advertising hoardings after a challenge with Gus Uhlenbeek.

He appeared to be left flat out in front of the Preston fans.

Engraged wasn't the word to describe Preston's players - and rightly so - but the referee then showed Ricardo Fuller the red card for his part in the furious row which erupted after the incident.

As Preston fans will testify, poor refereeing is something the club are being handicapped with game after game this season.

Seconds before Cresswell's collision with the ad boards - he was stretchered off at full time - Chris Lucketti scored with a flying header but was given off-side.

Put simply, he wasn't, leaving North End to share the spoils and, quite rightly, feel very hard done to.
