KARISMA Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan team up in this big budget effort.

Karisma plays a Canadian based girl, Nandini who ends up getting married to a young man, Shekar (Sanjay Kapoor). They have a son. Soon after Nandini realises she has familay-in-law living in the remote area of Rajastan.

The three leave for India after hearing of some ongoing village feuds and at the centre of the trouble is her father-in-law the ever impressive Nana Patekar (Narsimha). This is where the movie begins to get all too violent. Nandini's husband is soon murdered by rival gangs and the chase begins. She decides enough is enough and makes a bid to escape the clutches of her evil father-in-law.

Enter Shah Rukh as the petty criminal who helps out a woman in her hour of need. The violence may be too much for some but without it we wouldn't get the excellent facial expressions of Karisma who plays the hapless widow well. Aishwariya Rai makes a guest appearance to do a song and dance number with Shah Rukh. And is it only me but is Aishwaria losing weight fast?

But as is always the case...Mr Patekar steals the show.
