I AGREE with "Tax Payer" (Your Letters, Sept 20) that the Racial Equality Council (REC) in Bury is dividing communities instead of tackling racism.
It is time that it was closed down for good, as it serves no useful purpose. The local authority should simply appoint an in-house officer to deal with matters of racial discrimination or harassment.
