BURNLEY-based designer and manufacturer Panaz Limited is celebrating securing three lucrative contracts worth £700,000.

The company, based at Spring Mill, Fence, designs and makes flame-retardant furnishing fabrics for the international hospitality market.

It has recently been commissioned to supply the soft furnishings for the new Eden Beach InterContinental hotel complex at St George's Bay, Malta. The 700,000 Euro contract was awarded to Panaz by the project interior design team Di Leonardo, based in New York, and HDP International in London.

It includes the design and production of the fabric as well as the manufacture of the finished products and their installation on site, including drapes and window dressings, bedcovers, upholstery and accessories. Owned by the Eden Leisure Group and managed by InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, the new complex is due to open mid-November with more than 450 guest rooms, a business centre, banqueting rooms, restaurants and bars, gardens and a swimming pool.

Panaz has also been chosen for two other leading international hotels.

The company has been asked to design and supply soft furnishings for London's Marriott Park Lane and the Marriott Paris.

The Panaz design team will work alongside the project interior designers in both cases for a creation specific to each location.

Panaz was formed in 1987 and currently has an export turnover accounting for around 35 per cent of its business.

It supplies fabrics to some of the most prestigious hotel and leisure contracts being undertaken in the UK, USA and Europe, with cruise vessels, universities and leading hospitals also well represented on the client list.
