PARISHIONERS from Whalley Parish Church got together over the weekend to tidy up the churchyard.
The annual clear-out included the removal of brambles and general tidying up.
Ribble Valley Mayor Coun Joyce Holgate, who is also the chairman of the churchyard committee, was on hand to help the workers.
She said: "There were jobs that needed doing. It's looking very nice and we want to keep it up to a high standard. It just needed lots of jobs doing that we couldn't afford to pay for."
