TWO Blackburn Rovers legends and one from Burnley have been named in the initial list of nominees for the National Football Museum's "Hall of Fame".
The museum in Preston is planning to honour 20 players and five managers with a panel of footballing greats deciding on who goes in and who stays out.
There are 95 names initially under consideration and the chosen few will be announced on November 5.
Kenny Dalglish, the man who led Rovers to the Premiership title having previously helped Liverpool be crowned champions of England, is listed as both a player and a boss.
And it will be little surprise that Alan Shearer, who claimed his only winner's medal in that Rovers side, is being considered for inclusion following his goalscoring exploits for clubs and country over the past decade.
Perhaps of greater surprise to those of Claret persuasion is the omission of legendary winger Jimmy McIlroy.
That leaves just centre forward Tommy Lawton, who began his career at Turf Moor flying the flag for Burnley.
Sorting out the final make-up of the "Hall of Fame" is certain to be a tough task and open to much debate.
