STAFF at a Whitefield post office were threatened by armed raiders during a robbery.

Three men wearing balaclavas, one brandishing a large spanner, burst into the Park Lane Post Office at 5.25pm on Thursday (Dec 5) and threatened two female counter staff who were forced to hand over a quantity of cash.

After fleeing the shop, the men were seen running in the direction of Hawkstone Avenue where it is believed they got into a waiting vehicle.

The post office employees were not injured in the robbery but suffered shock.
