BURNLEY schoolchildren set up stalls to sell their own products in the town centre.
Groups from high schools in the town who are taking part in the Young Enterprise scheme took part in a Christmas trade fair in the Charter Walk shopping centre.
Each year a small group of Year 11 pupils from each school set up a company which makes and sells items to make a profit. At the end of the year they are marked on categories such as the best sales, best ideas and best marketing and the winner receives a shield.
Items on sale at the market included painted cottages, bracelets, notebooks, cushions and cards. The scheme is supported by Business Link East Lancashire and involves companies from Walshaw, St Hilda's, Gawthorpe and Barden High Schools.
