BLACKBURN'S Quakers voiced their opposition to any war with Iraq in the quietest way possible.
They congregated outside Foreign Secretary and Blackburn MP Jack Straw's constituency surgery at Bangor Street Community Centre. They didn't say a word but waved placards stating that Quakers were against war.
Mr Straw came out to meet them.
Their protest came as Iraq handed over an 11,807-page document which outlined what weapons the country has. The document has been handed to UN Arms Inspectors who have been touring the country looking for Iraq's chemical, biological and nuclear programmes.
Should ground troops go into war in Iraq, soldiers among the Queen's Lancashire Regiment could be among the first to go.
