SINGER Sean Ruane will make a triumphant return to his old school when he makes a guest appearance at a concert.

The tenor, who grew up in Bacup, is considered one of opera's rising young stars of the moment.

Sean was educated at St Theodore's RC High School in Burnley and has completed his undergraduate and post graduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.

This year his performances and operatic roles have include Opera Holland Park for the 2002 season, followed by a series of concerts in Italy as well as performing at the Puccini festival. He will also be covering the role of Rodolfo in La Boheme for Scottish Opera Merry-Go-Round and Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, for London City Opera tour of America and the Wexford Opera Festival.

Sean's most recent operatic conquest occurred at the James Hargreaves Suite, Burnley Football Club during a charity fund raiser for his old school.

Following his spectacular performance before 270 guests, he has agreed to return to St Theodore's for a charity concert this Saturday at 7.30pm.
